lose a file?-

click your start button, then click on find then files/folders ( some may have search instead of find. ) then type in at least 3 or 4 letters of the file name you are looking for, then select where to look, usually c: drive ...then click search now. you will see the results in the lower or left section and can look at the files and find the lost one.

-how do you safely shut down your computer? also known as reboot!!!-

no it doesn't mean kick it twice...
as tempting as it seems, or how ever many times you have seen
your dad, sis, boss do it.. do not make a habit of turning your
computer off just by clicking the button.
it only takes a second to click the start button, then shut down option... then click okay.
shutting down via the button will result in damage to the hard disk and eventually disk failure.

 -computer froze?-

this only works if keyboard is responding...
Control/Alt/Delete/click End Task and press Control/Alt/Delete again
don't rely upon this!! when you restart you will need to run a scan disc and I recommend clearing temp files too :)

how do you format a floppy disk-
i have windows ME
and i open up my computer, then click a: drive...
then right click, and select format from the options.

some systems may use my computer, then a: drive then file/ format

and you need to close it?
try Control/Alt/Delete/ select the program then click End Task
