• well, you could really have some pop up like that show up on a site......and quickly download some evil little bugger to your comp.
• and a few days later......suddenly........you have no access to files............you lose memory..........and file extensions are changed.......files lost...........
• or......... the person who's site you went to could have gotten your computers ip (address on the net) and is accessing your files/passwords/whatever. messing up your files....your computer......stealing programs and information
• or the site you visit maybe a crash site and suck all your resources forcing you to reboot * even if you have a pop up blocker......
• or the site may have a million pop ups that you cant stop....even in task manager and you have to reboot  * even if you have a pop up blocker......

and always make sure you are at a real yahoo page (or whatever site ) before you enter any password information. just because it looks like a yahoo page....doesn't always mean it is. .... . if in doubt..... back out of it...and start fresh from yahoo's main page. this goes for any log in page!

you don't have a firewall i strongly suggest you go get one now!!!!! zonelabs.com has a nice free firewall. or check my firewall page for info about several.

you can test your computer first at grc.com ---the shields up test first to see just how vulnerable your computer really is. once you have a firewall installed, go back and check again:)

and be careful when you file share or webcam, message or voice chat  on yahoo. it can establish a direct connection, leaving you vulnerable.
