NHYRVANA [ install messenger skin ]

need help changing that "mess"enger skin?

open.your.eyes.open.your.mind....

First> if you downloaded a skin off the net, you need to right click your desktop> click new> click folder> and name the folder with new skins name..... then unzip the new skin into that folder.........
then click your 'my comp' icon...then c drive...then program files....then yahoo...then 'mess'enger.....then skin....and then just drag the new skin folder into the skin file...... then next load 'mess'enger. it will show on the skin list.

cant find that skin you downloaded? try looking in c my downloaded files ..... not there? try clicking start> find> file> type in .zip and search.... check the file names and dates.....and you should find that file......
stiiillllllll cant find it? go back to the page you downloaded from....and hover your mouse over the file link....the name should appear either in a pop up/screen tip.....or should appear in the bottom status bar on your browser :)

	but for now.......to change that skin...... when you have 'mess'enger up......logged in or not....... and click the words log in
	and then click the word preferences
and then click the word appearance......... you will see some options once you do....................

where it says current themes is where you select which skin to use.......there are 3 preloaded to 'mess'enger......and any new ones you add will show on this list as well....... just click the little down arrow for a drop down........and select a new one....... you may also want to click the text color box and change the color of the text that will appear on your 'mess'enger as well.......coordinate it:) then click that apply button in lower right.......and then okay button.......and your done :) your new skin will be in place

~ i just swapped the colors and made sure the magic magenta was in place..... that got me this.....

and a few edits in the XML file changed the blue tone to my choice of pink.

you can make many more edits in the XML... borders and more.. this was on the fly....

there are about 3 skins included with messenger....none very cute :P but if you want to see them all .....or have added some new ones and now want to change the skin......this should help you .......
