May 24 ~ messenger version 6 for yahoo is a reality. no longer a beta
version. I had no problems with the beta not holding settings.. but
the final refuses to hold any settings. every time is like the first
time. DAMN IT. Make sure to READ CAREFULLY on install. say no to the mail,

DO NOT open email and unzip files from folks you do not know. this one is about 30 kb attachment.... an easy toss to trash..... Couple of problems passed along to me by others.... if your nick is banned or locked due to posting a url in chat ~ try https://edit.yahoo.com/config/change_pw do not change password tho.... enter it in all 3 spots, old, new, new. and account should work again. One of the great secrets out there is /news on yahelite. Alot of updates there about chat related items. JAN ~Moved all sites to a new server ~ old server was not responsive about addressing spammers. bad server. Some downtime may occur on nhyrvana.com and associated sites... if you see dead images or links.. patience.. i am fixing as fast as possible. the new server is set up different and requires some adjustments for things.

- From Mouzie and yahoo help ~does this sound like your problem? If you're receiving messages from a friend, but their name does not have a emoticon face next to it and you are unable to reply (or vice versa), then one of you may have accidentally "ignored" the other. To check, open the Login menu and choose Privacy Settings. Make sure your friend's ID is not included in your list of people to ignore.
- ongoing cannot connect to audio server.... try rebooting, try clearing cache/ temp files, and try replacing the yahoo chat file in C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files. and the audio conferencing file and reboot.
- yahoo game wont load.... many reporting they can not get in literati ~ stale cache message ~ go to C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files and right click and select DELETE for the yahoo game in question. then REBOOT.. when you come back online, it will give you a new game file. still having a problem? your security setting maybe off. try here....

Example? on yahelite click the MORE OPTIONS button on the first log in box, then scroll through and try a diff one.. edit.in.yahoo.com for example.... deep is back online.. maybe an update with more log in options soon? August 12 ~ yahoo kills the nobud page. ( why? cause EVERYONE copied the code and placed it allll over the net, and some BAD people edited the code, so it went to fake log in pages, stole passwords etc......anyway..) you now go to a page that launches your messenger , and you need to select then deny/ delete option.... then type the confirmation word. and the person is removed. i tested on an account of my own, removed myself.... no notice..... i still see my name on the list. July 12 and PERSISTENT ! ~ think you're not being seen in chat? probably not..... you can post and people won't see it.... server related? client related? try a diff server if on clients. this prob is also affecting room servers and particularly user rooms lists. ongoing ~ lots of folks having log in problems with messenger ~ make sure you have it set to NO NETWORK DETECTION on the connection tab...... if you can only get a window to open full maximize or minimized only ~ when minimized, right click item in the toolbar. then select move, then using arrows on keyboard, click the up arrow and left arrows until the chat screen comes back. then resize as you need. this happens to a lot of people on many programs.
Messenger has a newer version for download 5,0,0,1053 that supposedly fixes the active x exploits. still testing. 2001 More have been asking about the old style yahoo names , like ones with dashes or spaces. Those names were made prior to Dec 3, 1999. ....... Recently someone (s) have found a way to access accounts with those old style names, and has been hacking/cracking them. BE EXTREMELY careful with your id, account info and make sure your password is good! SAY NO ~ report and ignore those who you know are using stolen names and who steal names or offer stolen names.

7/2/01 ~ yahoo has now posts your ip at the top of your screen when you log into java chat. DO NOT FREAK. yahoo had this info before, and it doesn't post anywhere but your screen. basically there so users would know that yahoo knows their ip address. it doesn't get broadcast. basically, someone thought that if yahoo put the IP addy up there, then users would see it, and maybe not trade child porn or think twice abuse being bad. June 1, 2001 ~ more webcam related stuff~ not seeing user lists? or room change problems? cant get voice working right? this may be why....when yahoo did the webcam conversion, the room list you get when you enter a room became too long to send, because of that extra length the room enters packet is never sent, the room enters packet is never sent, the room list is not populated and you don't get the voice authorization. also since the 'room enters' packet is used to update the title bar or other information that shows you the current room, you are left wondering what room you are in.

Although you are unable to check email, you should be able to send email without difficulty. 5/26/01 ~ lots having problems accessing geocities file manager and page building tools. and as always.....ftp is not reliable. 5/24/01 ~ someone fell asleep at switch. a name server filter is down. and many offensive names and fake names (like Yahoo_Chat_Administrator) have been made. just click IGNORE. no real yahoo will ever ask you for your password or ip number. when in doubt ask in yahoo chat help room. 5/23/01 ~ several chatters are reporting that while loading pics. they get looped to a log in for yahoo clubs ....no idea wtf that's all about 5/22/01 ~ clients are voiceless for now...again. check for updates on their sites....(whistles innocently....check for UPDATES) 5/20/01~ webcam doesn't work right. (who saw that coming?) if you are getting disconnects when you try to access java go to c\windows\downloaded program files and remove yahoo chat files. reboot. and accept new versions of chat. so far this addition has cause a lot of probs. seems to only work on IE browser.... for Netscape try clearing cache. but yahoo officially says "we are aware of the problem with Netscape and are currently working towards a fix"..... don't hold your breath. consider using a client or try a suggestion from saxappeal> go to netscape preferences and remove yahoo chat file. you wont have voice access. but can stop pop ups and get to chat. it is a problem with the active x causing this. so yep...ya-hoo kinda just ignored netscape users needs. room creation is still down for many. particularly uk and de users, as well as inability to access room servers for languages messenger downloads are missing various dll files... try run from location option rather than save to disc voice isn't working in many rooms. mail cant be retrieved log in is failing 5/19/01 and ongoing~ PRIVATE MESSAGES ARE NOT WORKING FOR MANY clubs, pages, profiles, pictures are missing or cant be accessed false alerts for stocks and personals 5/18/01 ~ yahoo has added webcam access on java chat. only works in webcam:1 room i think... for now. should be all over yahoo soon. except for netscape chatters .... 5/18/01 ~ all chat clients need to update to latest version to remove the 0𐂖0 codes that many are seeing. check clients pages for info and links this is because of the addition of webcams to java chat. 5/17/01 ~ ftp does not seem to work for many on geocities. this includes ws_ftp and frontpage publish options....and some pages *POOF* temporarily. you can use upload tool to transfer pics and some files. then use advanced html editor to transfer code until ftp behaves again. and REMEMBER Thursday 8-10 pm pacific time is regularly scheduled server update time for geocities. 5/3/01 ~ yahoo messenger is no longer in beta ...it is a final release get latest version here http://messenger.yahoo.com May 3, 2001 - from yahoo > Internet Explorer 6 Beta with PageBuilder There are currently a number of bugs introduced with the release of IE6 beta. So rest in the fact that it probably isn't you..... and try again...if you contact yahoo they will tell you to hit refresh / clear cookies/ make sure you are all updated / and java is current ~ or try during non peak times. so.... always try that first :) what's yahoo mean? NHYRVANA knows this stuff cause she is *always* online, regular helpers and yep some actual real live yahoos tell her, and she checks forums for FAQ :-) you don't have to take it as gospel..... just sharing info :-) if you know a fix. share it please
