| IMPORTANT NOTE: There are no implied or expressed warranties. Note: You should follow the instructions to the letter. Please do not waste time trying to figure out what virus you may or may not have on your system. Many viruses/worms/Trojan's will infect more than one file while you have your computer system on. So, the longer you waste time, the more files may become infected. DO not assume the virus scanner on your computer will catch every virus, even if you do the updates. You should do the following: 1.) Do not waste time talking with someone trying to figure out what to do with your computer system. If you have an anti-virus program, it before you proceed to step 2. |
you are disabling it so it will not interfere with the online scanner 2.) Click on this URL: http://housecall.antivirus.com/housecall/start_corp.asp#top Choose the appropriate country and press "GO" to continue. 3.) Next HouseCall will install their updated virus database on your system. (allow it to install, it may take a few minutes). 4.) Once HouseCall has finished installing the database files on your computer system, you need to place a CHECK in the box next to the line "MY COMPUTER". Then UNCHECK the box that is next to "AUTO CLEAN". Then you can press the button labeled "SCAN". HouseCall will now start the scanning process. If you leave AUTOCLEAN checked, it may fix the virus, but take some critical files you need with it ~ better to find the virus name, then HAND remove it according to the onsite directions. 5.) *NOTE: If HouseCall finds a virus on your system, DO NOT try clean, repair or delete an UNCLEANABLE File !!! AGAIN! DO NOT try to clean, repair or delete an UNCLEANABLE File !!! Instead do the following: a.) Write down the name of the virus that was detected. b.) SHUT DOWN YOUR COMPUTER SYSTEM!
This means don't waste time trying to figure out how to fix your computer system. 6.) Contact your local Anti-Virus Specialist to repair your computer system. free antivirus www.vcatch.com and www.grisoft.com another free scanner www.commandondemand.com remember you can not load a new antivirus on a system that is infected.. it will not find the viruses or fix them~ don't just rely on one tool! i use nortons, vcatch, and scan at housecall and commandondemand weekly! each system has the potential to miss a percentage of the viruses........ if you use many tools. you have a better chance of catching any viruses. |
