how to make an avatar? any image can be made into an avatar, just
resize it in your graphics program. here are some

each client, forum, and chat server has different size specifications to follow....
New yahoo beta messenger avatars..... if you
have used a graphic off your computer as a picture to share, it will be
saved here....

~ replace the username to yours of course. the
best suggestion for the yahoo messenger 6 beta avatars, is to make sure they
are no more than 100x100 and square. (small version is about 50x50) it cuts off the sides of rectangular
avatars. The avatars you select to use are saved as PNG files ~if you want
to add several at once, rather than one at a time.... save as png files, and
add to the folder, then edit the INDEX.ini file with the info for each new
avatar. ( only takes a minute, promise!) and no they do not currently
support animated gifs.

to use on excite chat..... Avatars must be gif files. you can use Ifran or PSP to edit, crop etc the image. just open up the pic that you would like to make an avatar out of. Resize the image to W=48 L=64 pixels. Then go to file and choose "Save as" yourname.gif. Save it to "program files/Vplaces/EXTs/avatars". Simple as that! You have your own avatar.

Making an
avatar ~ once you find the image you want to use......or made your name.......you will need to resize it.........i use ifran......fast and easy (image resizing help on my ifran page) and when done, then just click file.....save as........ pick a name like your chat id...maybe add a number so you don't end up with an avatar named same as another...... then make sure you place it in the chat clients avatar file.....
or upload to a server that allows remote linking.
